Audio setup
Kinetix Sync listens to audio as a microphone input — it cannot tap DJ apps directly. Route your DJ app output through a virtual device Kinetix can hear.
On launch, Kinetix Sync detects loopback software (LitLink on Mac, VB-Cable on Windows). If LitLink is installed but not running, it opens automatically. If nothing is installed, a banner offers a one-click download. Audio drivers cannot be silently bundled inside the app installer (they need admin rights and separate licenses).
Rekordbox + LitLink (Mac)
- Install LitLink (or BlackHole)
- Rekordbox → Preferences → Audio → Output → LitLink (or LitLink + MacBook Speakers)
- LitLink exposes a virtual input Kinetix can hear
- In Kinetix Sync → Start Listening — auto-selects LitLink when detected
Serato (Mac)
- Serato → Setup → Audio → enable Make Audio Available to Other Applications
- Kinetix Sync → Listen → select Serato Virtual Audio
- Play a track and confirm the level meter moves
Advanced: route Serato through LitLink per-app (LitLink Pro) → then use LitLink Audio Bridge in Kinetix.
Windows
Use VB-Audio Virtual Cable or Serato’s virtual device. Kinetix → Listen → CABLE Output (or Serato virtual device).
Live lyrics (karaoke)
Fingerprint karaoke works with any DJ software — no Spotify required.
- Add an AudD token in Settings → AI Live Lyrics
- Add a karaoke overlay and start Listen
- Kinetix Sync identifies the track (AudD
timecode), fetches synced lyrics from LRCLIB, and advances captions from a local playhead (re-IDs every ~12s to correct drift)
Beta proxy users without a local AudD key can use the hosted identify route when AUDD_API_TOKEN is set on the server (subject to karaoke daily quota).
Permissions (Mac)
- Microphone — required for loopback devices (LitLink, BlackHole). System Settings → Privacy → Microphone → enable Kinetix Sync
- Screen Recording — may be required for some capture paths
Use Troubleshoot in the app for guided fixes based on your detected setup.
